Apple releases iOS 26 developer beta 5 with Liquid Glass design improvements

Apple released the fifth developer beta of iOS 26 on Tuesday, bringing refined animations, improved app interfaces, and bug fixes as the company prepares for next month's official launch. The update, designated build 23A5308g, arrives one week after the fourth beta and continues refining the operating system's signature Liquid Glass design aesthetic. The developer beta 5 release focuses heavily on polishing the new translucent interface elements that define iOS 26's visual overhaul. Key improvements in beta 5 include a new bouncy Lock Screen animation that activates before passcode entry or biometric authentication, plus splash screens for Apple's built-in apps that appear during first launch after updating. The Camera app gained a toggle to reverse swipe directions for switching shooting modes, while Mail restored the Select button for managing multiple messages—addressing user complaints from previous betas. The update maintains the Liquid Glass design throughout the interface, featuring translucent elements across the Lock Screen, Home Screen, and Control Center. When editing Home Screen layouts, the delete buttons now utilize the Liquid Glass texture instead of the more opaque backgrounds from iOS 18. Apple also introduced a refreshed AirDrop icon in the system share sheet and modified the low battery notification that appears at 20% charge.iOS 26 supports devices from iPhone SE (2nd generation) and iPhone 11 onwards, making it the final major update for iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max models. Apple Intelligence features require iPhone 15 Pro models or any iPhone 16 series device.Developers can download the update through the Settings app's Software Update section. The public beta program launched last week, with beta 5 expected to released to public as public beta 2 in the coming days.

5 Simple Ways to Detect Spy App on Your Smartphone
In a recent ruling in a Divorce case, the Madhya Pradesh High Court held that a wife's private WhatsApp chat can be allowed to be presented as evidence under Section 14 of the Family Court Act, 1984 even if they are obtained without her permission. In this case, the husband accessed his wife's private WhatsApp chat via a special app installed on her phone (likely a spy app) without her knowledge and found out that she was having an extra-marital affair. His lawyers decided to present this as evidence in the court and seek divorce on the grounds of cruelty and adultery. The wife's lawyers challenged this move and did not want her WhatsApp chats to be presented to the court, arguing that this action by the husband violated her right to privacy under Article 21 of Constitution of India and Sections 43, 66 and 72 of the Information Technology Act. The Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected this argument and said that even though the right to privacy has been recognized as a fundamental right, the same is not absolute and is subject to exceptions and limitations.
