Alexander Zverev accomplished his 500th ATP match victory at the Toronto Masters by defeating Matteo Arnaldi 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 6-2 in a tough three-set match to progress to the fourth round of the US Open warm-up event. The top-seeded German player faced challenges in the first set, lasting 82 minutes, before regaining his form to secure a win over Arnaldi for the second time this year. "It's a great achievement. Not many players reach this milestone. But I still aim for 500 more - perhaps even more. You always strive to win as many matches as possible. That's my goal," Zverev commented on reaching this career milestone. "I started playing better from the baseline and found my rhythm a bit. My backhand felt off, but I was content and pleased with my performance level," Zverev added, reflecting on his improved play during the match. Jimmy Connors holds the record for the most matches won by male tennis players in history with 1274 wins.
